ngees 新しい小さなゲームコンソールが登場か

Ouya、GameStick、Oroject Shieldのようなアンドロイドコンソールが登場しました。その名はNext Generation Entertainment Systemの頭文字をとってnGees（ジーズと発音）というそうです。

このデバイスは、他のデバイスと同様な機能を持つ他にも、Skypeや写真共有やファイル共有、ドキュメント編集などの機能も含むようです。

いまIndiegogoにて資金を集めている最中です。

上のビデオによればフルーツ忍者がモーションコントロールがついたコントローラーによって操作されています。もちろんアングリーバードもプレイしています。これらのゲームはデバイスに特化してつくられたものではありませんが、1:01あたりから見ることができます。このデバイスはUSBを通じてコントローラーなどを繋ぐこともできるようです。

発売は5月に99ドル、139ドル、159ドルの価格帯で発売することを目指しています。



 Another day, another itty bitty Android console. Joining the likes of Ouya, GameStick andProject Shield is the nGees (pronounced "in jeez"), the "Next Generation Entertainment System." Seeking funding on Indiegogo, The little box packs many of the same features seen in other Android consoles, though this one is pitched more as a multimedia device. That includes everything from Skype video conferencing to photo sharing, movies, music and even things like editing documents.

On the gaming front, the box appears to run currently available Android games. Specifically, the above video shows Fruit Ninja being played with a motion-sensing remote control. And, of course, it plays Angry Birds. The games don't appear to be built specifically for the device – you can clearly see a shot of the standard Google Play store at 1:01 – suggesting that the remote is simply emulating touch screen controls on your TV, which doesn't exactly sound ideal. The device does however, promise to support "most of your electronic devices" via USB, and the video shows off a wireless Logitech controller being used. As for the specs, the device sports an ARM9 dual-core processor and a quad-core GPU.

A pledge of $99, $139 or $159 will net you an 8GB, 16GB or 32GB nGees, respectively, with an estimated delivery of May 2013. Strangely, only the $4,000 pledge level mentions including a remote control. nGees is seeking $395,000, with 52 days to go.

Grand Theft Auto3がiOSとAndroidに登場!10周年記念の＄150のアクションフィギュアも

今年の10月でGrandTheftAuto3が発売から10周年記念になります。これを祝して、iOSとAndroid版での発売が決まりました。発売日は秋の終わりごろになるとのことです。


RockStarのBig BossであるSam Houser氏は下記の通りのコメントをしています。「これらリリースはゲームの可能性を広げていくという会社のビジョンを明確にしました。タッチスクリーンでのプレイに疑問をもつかも知れませんが、これらについてはNewYorkでのコミコンで披露します」


またHPによれば、6分の1スケールでのアクションフィギュアが発売され、これは＄150とのことです。

With this October marking the 10-year anniversary of Rockstar's groundbreaking Grand Theft Auto III, the developer is celebrating by releasing the open-world classic on iOS and Android "later this fall," though no price was given. "Grand Theft Auto III showed us the potential of open world games," Rockstar big boss Sam Houser said in a press release. "It helped set the vision for the company, and we have been expanding on those possibilities with every game ever since." You're probably as curious as we are as to how an open-world title like GTA3 controls on a touchscreen, but luckily the game will be playable at this weekend's New York Comic Con.

If playing with bits and bytes isn't your thing, then ... well, why are you reading this website? Regardless, you'll probably be interested in the above 1:6 scale action figure of GTA3 antihero Claude, replete with various outfits, guns, and severed hands. At just $150, we clearly don't understand the economics of action figures anymore.

R-type 9月12日にアンドロイドに登場

若者たちは、「トヨタのセリカにはられるようなステッカーを電話にほしいとは思わない」というかも知れません。

若い人達にはあまり馴染みのないゲームかも知れないがR-typeはまさにシューティングゲームにおいて重要なゲームなのです。 そしてレトロゲームを再発売させている DotEmuは9月12日にAndroid Marketplace および Amazon's AppStore for Androidにおいて発売することになりました。

全てのアイテムやパワーアップアイテムはオリジナルのまま引き継がれ、またジョイスティックの代わりにタッチパッドの操作となっているそうです。Xperia Play への影響は考えられるものの、ボタンのサポートや必要OSのバージョンなどは不明ですが、android2.2以上のバージョンは必要であれば驚きです。



"But wait," some of you youngsters might be thinking. "How can those stickers I'm always seeing on Toyota Celicas and Mitsubishi Eclipses be coming to my phone? Why would I even want that?"

Take a seat, junior, you might learn something: Before R-Type adorned the window/bumper of every import with a fat pipe and under lighting, it was the name of one of the most iconic and ground-breaking shooters ever made. And now, retro-game refurbisher DotEmu is bringing Irem's historic xenophobic extermination simulator back to life on September 12, via the Android Marketplace and Amazon's AppStore for Android.

All of the items and power-ups from the original are said to be present and accounted for, with touch controls taking over for the obviously absent joystick and buttons. Remakes like this strike us as perfect candidates for the Xperia Play, though no details were given as to whether or not Android devices with buttons will be able to circumvent the touch controls. No price point or Android OS version requirements have been given either, but we'd be surprised if it required anything newer than 2.2.
